A: The SharedBook MemoryBook is a high-quality, professionally-printed, personalized book that YOU create online with a layout that we provide. After ordering your SharedBook MemoryBook, it will get mailed to you a week or so later. It can be personalized to include your photos and your comments, or you can include photos or comments that have been posted by your family and friends.
A: Internet Explorer 6.0+ or Firefox 2.0+ is required. Acrobat Reader is also required to view a sample MemoryBook and to preview the final version of your book, once created. You can download the free software now by clicking here. At present, we do not have a version for Mac but we are working on it!
A: Yes. Just go to www.sharedbook.com and go to "Our Books." Then click on "Preview Sample" on the book family that you are interested in making.
A: There are some pages in the MemoryBook that are already created for you; in addition to these, you can add your own stories and photos.
Customizable features:
A: You are able to choose either a hard or softcover for your MemoryBook. The hardcover book consists of a sturdy binding with a cut-out framing your front cover photo and the title of your book printed on the spine. The softcover is printed on premium glossy heavyweight laminate and displays your front cover photo directly on the cover along with the title of your book.
A: A hardcover MemoryBook and a softcover MemoryBook may contain a maximum of 250 pages. Please note that each book includes a standard number of pages and you will be charged $1.00 for every two pages you add to the standard number.
A: Yes. You can click on the "Take a Tour" button to get a short tour of the features and functions of the MemoryBook site.
A: If you prefer not to use your computer to personalize your MemoryBook, our Customer Service Staff would be happy to do it for you. We ask that you fill out an order form and send it to us along with a CD containing your photographs and stories, in order to assist us in fully customizing your book. Following your instructions, we will begin assembling the materials into a beautiful book that will preserve your memories for a lifetime.
When we're done, we will e-mail you a copy of the book for you to review. Upon your approval, we will have your MemoryBook printed and shipped to you within approximately 10-14 business days.
A: Yes. There are several options if you take pictures with a non-digital camera. You can scan your pictures onto the computer and upload them into the MemoryBook Album. If you don't have a scanner, you can ask to get your pictures placed on a CD when you get your pictures developed, and then you can upload them onto the website. You can also have your pictures or negatives scanned and placed on a CD through most office supply stores, if your film is already developed. Another way to create a MemoryBook Album is simply by using photos that have already been uploaded into the shared library by other members.
